Day of Family

Yesterday we headed to Marietta to visit my parents. My 84 year old grandmother now lives in Georiga and she LOVES coming over to see the girls. I'm so thankful she is here to be able to share such wonderful memories with the girls.

Silly Girl

3 Months old

Miss Emma turned 3 months old yesterday! She's just as sweet as can be! Like I've said before she is such a good baby and does not give us a minutes problem except...she still won't sleep through the night for us. She's like an alarm clock every morning at 3:00 am she wakes up crying ready to eat. So any tips from you moms, I'm open for suggestions. Having a 2nd child can be challenging sometimes because you just assume they will be like your first. Wrong! So far ours are completely opposite. Here is a pic of Emma at 3 months and Rileigh at 3 months. Our computer crashed a while back so I lost a lot of pics of Rileigh but still have my blog posts. It's hard for me to tell if they look a like b/c Rileigh has no hair and Emma has a ton.

So what do you think do they look anything alike?(sorry don't know how to get the pics side by side).

The Bumbo

So we decided to give the Bumbo chair a whirl today...even though its way to early. Emma seemed to like sitting up but still needed support behind her neck. Then to no surprise Rileigh thought it was hers "mine" and has been sitting in it all night.

Bath tub Picasso

Rileigh has a nasty cold and has been in a horrible mood the past two day. She loves taking baths so I figured I'd let her play as long as she wanted to keep her happy. My friend Jamie gave her some bath tub paint last year for Christmas so we took it out and gave it a whirl. The painted ended up being sorta like colored gel, but Rileigh still enjoyed it. Well big mistake b/c when I took her out of the bath she pitched a HUGE fit for the paint.

Emma is starting to balance her head really well now and she's gotten to be so strong. "Look what I can do"!


Hopefully I've got me another Mama's girl.

Picture Post/Update

So just recently we've noticed that Emma follows you with her eyes when you walk around the room. You can tell she has noticed the dogs too. Last night she slept from 10:00pm to 5:30 am which is one of first times she has slept through the night...we'll see if she's tricking us. She is growing by leaps and bounds and is bigger than most of her friends her age.



So here's Miss Personality. Rileigh is SO funny and is constantly making me laugh. She started day care 2 weeks ago and seems to really like it, despite being exhausted when she comes home. You can definitely tell she is about to be 2...I hear the word "no" about 1,000 times a day. She is talking so good now and can basically say anything you tell her too....and repeat anything you say! To me she is still my baby girl and is growing up WAY too fast. Here she is with all her bows and bracelets...(Cathy does this remind you of anyone?)

Sweet Emma

Can I just say we have the sweetest baby in the world. She is always SO happy all you have to do is smile at her and she smiles back. Oh how I love being a mom! We are SO blessed to have such beautiful sweet little girls.

So when I took Rileigh to day care Friday there was a note on the door that said bring 3 family photos to class on Monday. So I get to looking and we have very few photos of all for of us since Emma was born. So this weekend I am scrambling to get 3 decent photos of us. Needless to say it is not very easy to get an almost 2yr old to cooperate in a picture. Rileigh looks thrilled in this one...not the mention the shorts laying behind my head.

Best Cousins Forever!
Rileigh and Emma's cousin Ava has been over all day playing. Rileigh for some reason calls her "Nina". No clue why but all day she has been talking about "Nina". Look how cute they are. Ava is potty training so it's easier to keep her in her panties.

Look what Rileigh has learned how to do! We are going to the store pronto to get child safety locks for the doors. I can just see it now her making an escape out the front door.


I can only imagine what this sweet pea is going to learn from her big sister.


Also look what I busted her doing today. Little sneak stole her dads sweet tea! She would gulp this whole thing down in a heartbeat.

Back to work

Well I am sad to report Monday was my first day back to work. More importantly Rileigh started day care on Monday. I was SO nervous about her going but so far she has been doing really well. They take naps on mats which I thought was going to be a nightmare, but it went really well. When I called to check on her the director said she was asleep on her mat with a stuffed Elmo, Barney and Clifford. That made me laugh because it was no surprise to me. Rileigh loves her "babies" ie:stuffed animals. She goes to sleep with...."arney" for barney, "mimey mouse" for mickey mouse, "do" for dora, "go diego go" for Diego, two babies, and her Elmo blanket. And believe me she knows when she is missing one.

Emma will be staying with Scott's mother for a couple of months until she gets a little older. After her hospital stay I got scared to death to put her in daycare so young.
